me being me

There is some kind of magic in self-portraits. In one way it´s my true-self who is being observed, but in another, I can transform into whomever I want.  For me, it´s a way to understand myself, go throught my feelings, and explore my creativity. In the serie named "7 Veces Don Manolo", I explore my heritage and my relationship with my father. I´m literally wearing some of his best cowboy outfits when he was a good looking and brave guy.

My dad was a mexican Clint Eastwood. He embodied the perfect cowboy/charro: he was brave, honorable, partying and highly requested among women. In addition, he was a style symbol, he liked fine clothes and always mixed them with heavy jewelry.

I liked the portraits not only because of the aesthetic result, but because of their powerful meaning. As a symbolic act, they helped me to embodied characteristics I admire from my dad throughout the process
